Creating a GENERATION of PHILANTHROPISTS.
We are a 501(c)(3) organization and group of young professionals between the ages of 25 and 35. We conduct fundraising and outreach efforts with and for the Foundation for Blind Children and introduce the next generation to philanthropy. Members of the YVB spread the name and mission of the Foundation for Blind Children through their involvement in the YVB as well as involvement in other charitable events and community activities. The YVB will be a platform for hardworking young professionals to launch their involvement in the Phoenix philanthropic community.
WHO WE DO IT FOR
The YVB raises money and awareness for the Foundation for Blind Children, a Phoenix, Arizona based charity founded in 1952 by the parents of four blind children. The parents felt their sight impaired children were not receiving the care and attention that they needed, so they formed FBC. Today, FBC assists thousands of sight impaired students from birth to death. FBC assists its students both physically and mentally. They provide top notch medical care at no cost and show their students how much they are really capable of.
The mission of the Foundation for Blind Children is to provide education, tools and services that enable all persons with vision loss to achieve greater independence.
The Foundation for Blind Children is creating a world where vision loss is a diagnosis, not a disability.
FBC serves the blind and visually impaired of all ages, from birth to currently 102 years old. As the only agency of its kind in Arizona, the Foundation for Blind Children is an essential resource to children, families and adults with blindness or low vision.

Donated funds will allow FBC to provide higher quality treatment and care for their students and families.

Awareness of FBC's services and resources will increase their reach to treat even more people in need.

By creating a network of leaders with long-term involvement, FBC will prosper for years to come.
In addition to the money and awareness we are raising for FBC, the Young Visionaries Board can also be successful by creating a generation of philanthropists who will go on to benefit charities all across Arizona. By introducing young professionals to philanthropy, and giving them the chance to be actively and meaningfully involved, we can create an alumni network with long term involvement in philanthropic groups across the state.
